Ho:YAG single crystal
The output wavelength of Ho and Tm lasers is about 2 microns, which is close to the absorption peak of water. It has excellent cutting and blood coagulation effects on human tissues. It can be transmitted by ordinary optical fibers and is an ideal surgical laser light source. Human tissue has a high absorption rate of 2μm laser, which is almost 3 orders of magnitude higher than that of Nd:YAG. The United States has approved more than 20 2 micron lasers for medical and clinical use. It can treat many diseases.
