Yb:YAG is an important diode-pumped laser crystal, which is more suitable for diode pumping than traditional Nd ion-doped laser materials. Compared with commonly used Nd:YAG crystals, Yb:YAG crystals have a wider diode pump absorption band, which can effectively reduce the thermal management requirements of laser diodes.
Advantages of Yb:YAG crystal
High slope efficiency, high optical quality, high thermal conductivity, high mechanical strength, no excited state absorption and up-conversion , the heat load generated by unit pump power is higher than that of Nd:YAG crystal.
